On Thursday the CT State Police commemorated the 30th anniversary of the country's and possibly the worlds first operational accelerant detection canine (ADC), "Mattie" who became field operational on Sept 1, 1986. . Currently four ADC's are assigned to the Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit. From the program's inception 93 accelerant detection canines have been trained by the CT State Police from other states and countries. Unveiling a 30th anniversary commemorative statue are, from left, Col. Alaric Fox, Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, Founding Board of Trustree for Tails of Hope Linda Blilck MSW, Det.
