Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy speaks at the Connecticut Fuel Cell Forum hosted by Eversource, at Eversource Headquarters, 107 Sheldon Street, Berlin.
Malloy spoke in favor of the energy source that is a device that produces electricity through a chemical reaction between a source fuel and an oxidant.
The source fuel could be almost anything that can be oxidized, including natural gas, hydrogen, methane, propane, methanol, diesel fuel or gasoline. The only byproducts are water and a small amount of nitrous oxide if air is used as the oxidizer, according to Mitch Gross, Eversource spokesperson.
The conference featured discussion from fuel cell companies, discussion on fuel cell analysis and procurement processes, and fuel cell case studies from municipalities and businesses.
