On August 6, 2016, at about 0050 hours, Bristol Police, Fire and EMS responded to a motorcycle
crash in the area of 647 Willis Street. Upon arrival emergency personnel found a 51 year old male from
Southington suffering from life threatening injuries. The male was transported by ambulance to a
nearby trauma center. Due to the seriousness of the crash, the police departments Serious Traffic
Accident Reconstruction Team was called in.
Preliminary investigation found the motorcycle was traveling north on Willis Street, lost control in a
curve, leaving the roadway and striking a utility pole. The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved and
there was no passenger.
The crash remains under investigation. Witnesses to the accident are asked to call the Bristol Police
